Beautiful Gallo – Roman Bronze brooch in the shape of a butterfly with resting lion, in the round on top. Remains of enamel decoration. Intact pin and clasp to the rear. Detailing to mane and face of lion.

Origin

Gaul under Roman occupation/control which included France, parts of modern day Belgium and Western Germany. Circa 2nd to 4th century AD
